The forest is very important for maintaining the ecological balance of the environment. The occupancy of forest areas have reduced drastically due to rapid urbanization. Hence to reverse the harsh effects of deforestation and restore the ecological balance plantation programme needs to be undertaken on a large scale. Tree plantation campaigns are run by North Bengal Art Academy on an annual basis. These campaigns are implemented and managed through communities to promote awareness and a sense of responsibility.  Besides, environmental educations were provided to school students, and community members to inculcate a tradition of tree plantation.
